U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz and Cuba's foreign minister engaged in a shouting match on Tuesday within the general assembly hall. The confrontation arose as Waltz was presenting information regarding the Cuban regime's real estate holdings.
During Waltz's remarks, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla reportedly approached the rostrum, accusing the U.S. envoy of dishonesty. This prompted Waltz to respond verbally, telling Parrilla to "Back up!" The incident underscores ongoing tensions and diplomatic disputes between the two nations at the international body. The exchange occurred on October 28, 2026.
