Walmart Offers Thanksgiving Meal for $3.50 Per Person, Lowest Price Ever
The retailer's Holiday Meal Basket includes 26 items and aims to attract budget-conscious consumers.
Walmart announced its annual Thanksgiving meal bundle, priced at $35 for 10 people, or $3.50 per person. This marks the company's lowest price for the offering to date, as it seeks to attract consumers managing tight budgets. The Holiday Meal Basket contains 26 items, an increase of 18% compared to last year's bundle.
The meal includes a Butterball turkey, stuffing, dinner rolls, mashed potatoes, gravy, and pumpkin pie. New additions for this year's offering are Jiffy corn muffin mix, whipped topping, and ingredients for sweet potato casserole such as sweet potatoes and Jet Puffed mini marshmallows. The Butterball turkey is priced at 97 cents per pound, maintaining last year's price.
David Guggina, president and CEO of Walmart US, stated that the Holiday Meal Basket has become a valued tradition, enabling families to celebrate without overspending. The bundle is available for purchase in stores and online through Christmas Eve. Customers can also opt for curbside pickup, express pickup, or scheduled delivery services.
Walmart is offering free express delivery on the meal deal until November 30. The complete list of items comprises corn muffin mix, whole kernel corn, green beans, mushroom soup, fried onions for salad topping, russet potatoes, brown gravy mix, frozen pie crusts, whipped topping, pumpkin puree, evaporated milk, rolls, stuffing mix, cranberries, mini marshmallows, sweet potatoes, and a frozen whole turkey. The basket features a combination of Walmart's Great Value brand products and national brands like Jiffy and Jet-Puffed.
Since its introduction in 2022, Walmart's Holiday Meal Basket has reportedly saved customers over $350 million. Last year, the meal deal cost nearly $40 for 22 items.
