Walker Kessler made a memorable first impression in his Los Angeles Lakers debut on Wednesday night, scoring 26 points on perfect 12-for-12 shooting from the field, including 10 dunks. The rookie center's performance was a key factor in the Lakers' dominant 127-105 victory over the Golden State Warriors in the season opener.

Kessler's 10 dunks marked the most by a Lakers player since Shaquille O'Neal in 2003. His flawless shooting performance also placed him in rare company, as he became the second player in franchise history to achieve at least 12 made field goals without a miss, joining Wilt Chamberlain, who accomplished the feat in 1969.

Following the game, Shaquille O'Neal, a Lakers legend, humorously dubbed Kessler "Milk Chamberlain" during postgame coverage on ESPN, acknowledging the significance of his scoring efficiency and impressive display. The nickname highlights Kessler's historic debut and places him alongside some of the NBA's most storied big men.

Lakers teammates Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves played crucial roles in facilitating Kessler's offensive success. Doncic, who finished with 28 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists, noted Kessler's ability to finish plays. "When I was driving he stepped up. When I was doubled he played the pocket," Doncic said. "It was a very impressive game from him."

Kessler also contributed nine rebounds and two blocks, providing the interior presence that general manager Rob Pelinka aimed for when acquiring him. Despite admitting to pregame nerves, Kessler embraced the pressure of playing for a high-profile franchise.

"He understands what this is and what the pressure that comes with it is, and this is a great opening statement for him," Lakers coach JJ Redick said of Kessler's debut. Teammate Ziaire Williams expressed his admiration, admitting he found himself occasionally watching Kessler's dunks in amazement from the corner.

With his strong performance and the seamless integration into the Lakers' offense, the "Snowtime Lakers" era, as Kessler's emergence was dubbed, has begun with a resounding success.
