WAG Gia Duddy Criticized for Complaining About NFL Lifestyle
Influencer Gia Duddy faced backlash on social media after sharing a tearful TikTok video detailing the perceived difficulties of being a partner to an NFL player.
Influencer Gia Duddy has drawn criticism online for a now-deleted TikTok video in which she appeared to lament the realities of life as a "WAG" (Wives and Girlfriends of Athletes) in the NFL.
Duddy first gained public attention when she was dating former Titans quarterback Will Levis. She went viral in 2023 during the NFL Draft, with her reactions to his slide down the draft board captured on camera.
She is now reportedly dating Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Andrei Iosivas. In the video, Duddy appeared to cry while discussing the challenges of frequent player trades and friendships shifting.
"Part of the WAG life that nobody talks about that isn't as glamorous is when the men get traded literally off the top of a hat [sic], and all of a sudden you lose friends," Duddy stated in the video. She added that her "four closest friends" were gone between preseason and the current point in the season.
"Like I swear to God, my four closest friends, every single one of them are gone from preseason to now. I'd like to say I'm all alone, but I'm not all alone. I have a lot of, like, I still have so many great friends here, but uhhh..."
Duddy then referenced the Bengals' city, saying, "B***h, I'm in Cincinnati, Ohio. You're going to Miami? Bring me with you. No I'm just kidding, we love it here. But say some prayers for me, I'm a little sad today."
While Duddy did not explicitly name individuals, recent player movements from the Bengals to Miami include linebacker Shaka Heyward, who was signed by the Dolphins off the Bengals' practice squad. Additionally, Ke' Shawn Williams was waived by the Bengals on September 29 after a muffed punt.
Duddy has not officially confirmed her relationship with Iosivas, but she has previously shared content on social media, including a "day in my life" video featuring footage from a Bengals practice and a "friends and family" wristband. Iosivas was recently placed on injured reserve with a torn thumb ligament.
The influencer's video was met with sharp reactions on social media platforms, with many users labeling her comments as "out of touch." Some comments suggested that Levis had narrowly avoided a difficult situation, while others criticized the perceived superficiality of her complaints.
Duddy's video has since been deleted from her TikTok account.
