Vox has introduced a new mobile application designed to consolidate its diverse journalistic offerings, including written articles, podcasts, and videos, into a single platform. The app is now available for download on both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.

Users who are not currently Vox Members can access the app with a 14-day complimentary trial. According to Vox's editor-in-chief and publisher, Swati Sharma, the app aims to provide an experience that honors the breadth of their work across different media formats.

The app's main navigation features a Home tab, which includes highlighted content and the latest published stories. A "Start Here" section offers a curated overview of significant current topics. For Vox Members, the app provides an ad-free listening experience for its podcasts, such as "Today, Explained," "America, Actually," "Unexplainable," "The Gray Area," and "Explain It to Me."

The Video tab showcases Vox's short-form video content, while a Featured Video section within the Home tab presents longer-form videos, including in-depth explainers and exclusive member segments from podcasts.

Vox was established in 2014 with the goal of providing deeper understanding of current events by explaining not just what is happening, but why. The publication has since developed a distinct explainer format that is distributed across digital platforms, newsletters, a YouTube channel with a substantial subscriber base, and its podcast lineup. Under Sharma's leadership, Vox has also expanded its membership program, which now includes tens of thousands of paying subscribers.
