Vogue Williams has spoken out about her mother's disapproval of the original baby name chosen for her fourth child. The TV presenter, 40, and her husband Spencer Matthews had initially planned to name their son Elvis, inspired by the legendary rock musician.

However, Williams revealed on her podcast with her sister Amber that her mother, Sandra, expressed strong objections to the name. "So we're not using the name Elvis anymore because my entire family have b****ed about me behind my back but that's not why," Williams explained, adding that the ultimate decision came from her mother's reaction. Her sister affirmed that she supported Williams's choice, stating, "it's her and Spencer's child so I think they can do whatever they want."

Williams then directly addressed her mother, referencing her own name choice. "And I'm sorry Sandra did you call someone Vogue, as I seem to remember that you did," she said. Williams questioned her mother about any backlash received for naming her Vogue in the 1980s, to which Sandra reportedly claimed there was no issue because of a Saint named Vogue. Williams expressed skepticism about this explanation, calling her mother a "liar."

This naming dispute was a significant development in a busy week for the family. Williams had previously alluded to changing the name on her podcast, "My Therapist Ghosted Me," stating that her husband had received calls from family members regarding the chosen name. "I honestly thought though because it's been on my mind I just, I haven't ever been 100 percent comfortable with it," Williams admitted, citing concerns about the name being "such a big name to take on when you're little or trying to get a job when you're older."

Despite the original plan, the couple ultimately decided on the name Remy for their son. Following the announcement, they received numerous congratulatory messages from friends, including Paloma Faith and Holly Willoughby.

Vogue Williams announced the birth of her son last Tuesday, sharing that the family was filled with "excitement, love and happiness."

The week was also marked by their eldest son Theodore's eighth birthday. Amidst the family's new arrival and birthday celebrations, Spencer Matthews also participated in The Big Half marathon in London, achieving a chip time of 1:23:05 and setting personal bests in several running distances. He indicated that this race was part of his preparation for upcoming marathons in Berlin and Valencia.
