Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, the 18-year-old daughter of actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, has initiated the legal process to officially drop her father's last name. She published a notice of her petition in the Los Angeles Daily Journal weekly for four consecutive weeks, from July 24 to August 14, according to court documents obtained by Page Six.

The publication of the notice is a requirement for name changes in California. The ad also calls for anyone who opposes the change to submit a written objection before the final hearing, scheduled for November 2.

Vivienne filed to legally change her name in July, requesting to go from Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie. The stated reason for the change in court documents is listed as "personal."

This move follows a pattern established by several of her siblings. Her sister Zahara and brother Maddox have also recently taken out similar advertisements in the Los Angeles Daily Journal to fulfill the state's legal name change requirements. Zahara has a court hearing scheduled for September 28, while Maddox's next hearing date is not yet known.

Their sibling Shiloh was the first of the children to officially remove "Pitt" from her surname. She reportedly hired her own lawyer and paid for the process herself when she turned 18 in June 2024.

Vivienne had previously used the name Vivienne Jolie while working with her mother on the Broadway production of "The Outsiders." Her name was listed as such in the show's Playbill.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie share six children: Maddox, 24; Pax, 22; Zahara, 21; Shiloh, 20; and 18-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. Reports indicate that all six children have distanced themselves from Pitt since his 2016 split from Jolie. The former couple was declared legally single in 2019, and their divorce was finalized in December 2024. Pitt recently spoke about experiencing suicidal thoughts during the period of navigating "family stuff" following their breakup.
