Virginia Giuffre's family is actively working to establish UK parliamentary hearings modeled after the US congressional inquiries into Jeffrey Epstein's activities. Sky Roberts, Ms. Giuffre's brother, stated he is "actively" trying to facilitate such hearings, which he believes could bring "a new level of disgrace" to Prince Andrew.
Roberts plans to visit Britain soon to meet with Andy Burnham, the Makerfield MP, to press for a public inquiry into Epstein's links within the UK. "I think the UK is at a really pivotal moment," Roberts said. "We are actively working behind the scenes to guide that. Stay tuned. One hundred percent you will be seeing lots of UK stuff coming forward."
Roberts' wife, Amanda, confirmed they are "pushing for a formal inquiry in the UK." These prospective hearings could be "catastrophic" for Prince Andrew and former UK ambassador to the US, Peter Mandelson, both of whom have been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office related to Epstein. Both men deny the allegations.
In the United States, the House Oversight Committee has questioned prominent figures connected to Epstein, including Microsoft founder Bill Gates and Epstein's former assistant Sarah Kellen. While US congressional hearings have been conducted behind closed doors, full transcripts are released afterward. The potential UK equivalent could be public and broadcast live, similar to most British parliamentary committee proceedings.
Thames Valley Police, investigating Prince Andrew, are reportedly planning to visit the US in the coming weeks as part of their inquiry. Roberts confirmed that Thames Valley officers have been in contact and are taking the investigation "very seriously," including alleged sexual misconduct. A US lawyer representing Epstein victims, Brad Edwards, has claimed that one of his clients was sent by Epstein to Prince Andrew for sex at Buckingham Palace in 2010, but the client has reportedly been too fearful to speak to the police.
Prince Andrew has consistently denied Ms. Giuffre's claims that he sexually assaulted her when she was 17, which she alleged occurred in 2001. He settled a civil battery lawsuit brought against him by Ms. Giuffre in 2022. Ms. Giuffre died in April 2025 at the age of 41.
