The survival of a Virgin Mary statue amidst the devastation of the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires has become a focal point of resilience, explored in the new Fox Nation series, 'Unexplained Mysteries of Faith.' The program features the Halpin family, whose home was reduced to rubble by the fires, but whose family statue remained intact.

Peter Halpin described the spontaneous family prayer and hymn sung around the statue in the aftermath of losing their home. He stated that in the shock of such a significant loss, their actions and the statue's survival provided comfort and hope to others in their community. "I think it gave a lot of people hope, because we believe in God, we are a prayerful family, and we just felt like it was something we should do," Halpin said.

His wife, Jackie Halpin, shared in a January 2026 interview with Angelus News that her faith was instrumental in navigating the emotional toll of the wildfires. "I could not have done it without my faith," she stated. "You can be really sad and still be grateful. You can be in pain and believe in redemptive suffering, and that has really sustained me this year."

In 'Unexplained Mysteries of Faith,' host Abby Hornacek examines stories of faith, miracles, and unexplained occurrences. The series delves into various historical and personal accounts, including the Loretto Chapel's spiral staircase in New Mexico, and the life of St. Frances Cabrini, the first American saint.

Abby Hornacek hosts the new Fox Nation series, 'Unexplained Mysteries of Faith,' streaming August 3.

The three-part series, which began streaming on Fox Nation on August 3, aims to explore how faith has shaped the understanding of significant events. Hornacek previously hosted the Fox Nation series 'PARK'D,' which explored America's national parks.
