Violet Affleck, daughter of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, was observed without a face covering during a recent summer outing in Los Angeles. Affleck, a rising junior at Yale University, was photographed on a solo stroll, carrying her mask in her hand.
The 20-year-old has previously been outspoken on public health issues, advocating for the return of mask mandates. In 2024, she reportedly pushed back against mask bans in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The following year, she addressed the United Nations, urging world leaders to counter the spread of airborne diseases.
Affleck's recent appearance comes as she enjoys her summer break from college in Los Angeles. She was seen in a colorful ensemble, sporting what appeared to be a new summer bob haircut. Prior to her solo walk, she was also seen with her mother, Jennifer Garner, having lunch.
This period of personal time follows the recent death of Affleck's paternal grandmother, Christopher Anne 'Chris' Boldt, who passed away at age 83 on June 2 after battling pancreatic cancer. Boldt was a Harvard graduate, civil rights activist, and public school teacher.
Violet is the eldest of Affleck and Garner's three children, which also include Fin, 17, and Samuel, 14. The former couple, who divorced in 2018, are co-parenting their children. Affleck and his brother Casey are reportedly finding solace and leaning on their children during their grief following their mother's passing.
