The cast of HBO's "The Sopranos" is mourning the death of Vincent Pastore, who portrayed Salvatore "Big Pussy" Bonpensiero. Pastore died at the age of 80.

Edie Falco, who played Carmela Soprano, called his passing "an awful loss" and "so unexpected" in a statement. "Vinnie was always so full of life," she added.

Michael Imperioli, who portrayed Christopher Moltisanti, shared his grief on Instagram, describing Pastore as a "beloved friend and collaborator." He recalled working and traveling extensively with Pastore, noting "lots of good times. Lots of laughs." Imperioli concluded his tribute by stating, "He was a kind hearted brother who cared deeply about his family and friends. I will miss him always."

Lorraine Bracco, who played Dr. Jennifer Melfi, wrote on her Instagram Story that Pastore was "such a funny & charming man…just a beautiful soul." She described his death as "absolutely heartbreaking."

Dominic Chianese, who played Corrado "Junior" Soprano, also paid tribute on Instagram. "We lost a friend today," he wrote. "Paying respect and sending Love in tribute. You were a gem Vinnie."

Page Six confirmed Pastore's death on Saturday, reporting that he was found deceased by a neighbor in his home on City Island in the Bronx. Police sources indicated the actor died of natural causes.

Pastore's longtime manager, Robert Attermann, shared a heartfelt statement, recalling his privilege of representing Pastore for over 30 years. "To the world, he will always be remembered as the unforgettable 'Big Pussy,' but to those of us who knew him, he was so much more," Attermann said.

Attermann described Pastore as "one of the kindest, most generous people" he had ever known, who treated everyone with "warmth and respect" and never turned away a fan. He highlighted Pastore's passion for acting and his generosity towards young actors, offering guidance and support. Attermann called Pastore's loss "deeply personal" and said he would miss his "friendship, his loyalty, his humor, and his heart."

Pastore was a significant presence in "The Sopranos" during its original run from 1999 to 2007. He appeared in the first two seasons and returned for recurring and guest roles in later seasons. The series, widely regarded as one of the greatest dramas in television history, earned critical acclaim and numerous awards.

Pastore joins several other "Sopranos" cast members who have passed away, including James Gandolfini and Nancy Marchand.
