Video of Sam Wood joking about 'strangling' wife resurfaces after domestic violence charges
The Bachelor star was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and strangulation following an incident in Noosa.
A resurfaced social media video shows reality television personality Sam Wood joking about 'strangling' his wife, Snezana, shortly after he was charged with domestic violence offenses. Wood, 46, faces charges of assault occasioning bodily harm and strangulation in a domestic setting following an incident at a property in Noosa on Saturday evening.
Police attended the Hastings Street address around 9 p.m. after receiving reports of alleged domestic violence. Wood, a millionaire wellness entrepreneur, was arrested and charged on Sunday. His lawyer, Mathew Cuskelly, represented him in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday, as Wood did not appear.
The resurfaced TikTok video, which has since been deleted, features Wood discussing his late-night cravings for sweets. In the clip, he says he enlists his wife's help to hide treats and jokingly adds, "Then even if I am strangling her to death she will not give it up."
The Daily Mail noted that the video does not imply Wood's guilt in the charges he faces.
Following the alleged incident, Wood and Snezana issued a joint statement on Instagram. "This is a difficult time for all of us, we are working through this as a family and are thoroughly co-operating with the authorities," the statement read.
Wood's businesses have responded to the allegations. DBG Health, the parent company of his fitness business '28 by Sam Wood,' stated they have zero tolerance for domestic violence. Wood has been placed on indefinite leave from his duties with the company, and its Chief Operating Officer, Mark Watkins, will lead the business in his absence. This also impacts Wood's role with Ollo For Women, another DBG Health-owned medical weight-loss business for which he was the public face.
Wood founded '28 by Sam Wood,' a fitness and training business, which he sold for $71 million in 2022. He retains ownership of The Woodshed gym in Melbourne.
The charges emerged the same weekend Wood announced a personal "comeback" on social media, posting on Instagram Sunday, "The comeback is personal. It's an apology to myself." He added, "You don't want to beat yourself up about what is in the past, but you can definitely gain strength and motivation for the future." The post was likely pre-scheduled.
Wood married Snezana, with whom he has three children, in 2018. They also co-parent Snezana's daughter from a previous relationship. The couple resides in Brighton, Victoria.
This is not the first time Wood has faced financial scrutiny. In November 2025, it was reported that the Australian Taxation Office was pursuing him for over $7 million in unpaid taxes. Civil proceedings were launched, but a recent court update indicates the dispute was resolved by agreement and the case was dismissed in September.
