An Australian tourist, Sally Grace Contarino, 26, has been missing in Las Vegas since June 20 after a solo trip through California and Nevada. A video shared by an influencer, recorded on Meta glasses, shows Contarino on June 17, just days before she was scheduled to board her flight home to Melbourne.
Las Vegas police have classified Contarino as an "endangered missing adult" who may be experiencing severe emotional distress and require medical attention. The footage shows a man approaching Contarino outside a 7/11 on Boulder Highway. The man asks for her number, to which she responds that she has a boyfriend. He then apologizes and asks if she is waiting for her boyfriend. Contarino states she is going inside for a cigarette, and the interaction ends.
Contarino had informed friends via text on June 19 that she planned to hike Lone Mountain before returning home. She was captured on CCTV returning to her hotel, the Bungalows Hostel, in the early hours of June 20. Witnesses at Timbers Bar & Grill reported seeing her later that evening around 10:30 p.m. after she used an ATM, noting she appeared happy and seemed fine.
Her family stated she told hostel staff she intended to retrieve her luggage and then depart. She also reportedly ordered breakfast and a smoothie before boarding a bus to Mount Charleston, a popular hiking destination. Police believe Contarino disembarked the bus for a planned hike but never returned to her hotel.
Her return flight to Los Angeles to catch her international flight home was not scanned, and no CCTV footage shows her boarding the bus. Las Vegas police have recovered her luggage and are using her clothing with search dogs. Contarino is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall with a thin build, fair skin, brown hair, and brown eyes. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.
