Video Appears to Show Doctor Cleaning Blood After Model's Murder

Disturbing video footage appears to show a British doctor, who is accused of murdering a model and stuffing her body into a suitcase, cleaning what investigators suspect is blood from the floor of a Colombian apartment.
Dr. Matthew Foster-Smith, 46, is alleged to have killed Natalia Villalba, 36, on June 18 in her Bogota apartment. The video shows a man believed to be Foster-Smith crawling on the floor and scrubbing it with a rag, leaving visible cleaning marks. He is then seen disposing of the rag down a garbage chute before leaving the apartment via elevator.
Prosecutors claim Foster-Smith bashed Villalba with a blunt object, dismembered her body, and then stuffed it into a gray suitcase, which was left in the apartment's running shower. Cleaners discovered the body three days later.
Authorities believe Foster-Smith fled Colombia for Ecuador using a fake British passport. An Interpol red notice was issued for his arrest. He was apprehended in Ecuador while attempting to board a flight to the United Kingdom.
Before his arrest, Foster-Smith reportedly contacted The Sun newspaper, providing an alibi that he was watching a World Cup match. However, reports indicate the match he cited, England versus Croatia, took place a day before the alleged murder.
Foster-Smith, a former medic from southern England, has a prior conviction for stalking an ex-lover and posting revenge porn online. He received an 18-month prison sentence in 2020 for those offenses.
He has been charged with aggravated femicide and concealing evidence in Villalba's death. If convicted, he faces up to 50 years in prison.
