Victoria's Secret Models Shine at Afterparty Amid Brand Evolution
Irina Shayk and Bella Hadid, alongside other stars, celebrated the Victoria's Secret show with striking outfits, highlighting the brand's ongoing transformation.
Supermodels Irina Shayk and Bella Hadid showcased bold fashion choices at the Victoria's Secret show afterparty held at The Bird Streets Club in West Hollywood. The event followed the iconic runway show, where both models, along with other celebrities, displayed their ensembles.
Shayk, marking a decade since her first Victoria's Secret show, opted for a daring look consisting of a black bra paired with low-slung sheer trousers and a thong. Hadid, celebrating her sixth show, wore a nearly-bare black mini dress with a sheer construction. Other notable attendees included Daiane Sodre, who also wore a sheer outfit without a bra, and Tate McRae, dressed in a leopard print mini dress.
Tate McRae, who performed at the show in lingerie, later appeared at the afterparty in her leopard print ensemble featuring a plunging neckline and cinched waist. Ashley Graham also attended, sporting a black, white, and red dress with a deep V-neckline, a departure from her runway attire.
Shayk's initial involvement with Victoria's Secret a decade ago saw her walk the runway while pregnant. Reflecting on her return to the brand, she previously cited "Sexy push-up bras, beautiful fluffy wings, girls, and [having] fun backstage" as reasons for her continued participation.
The Victoria's Secret brand has undergone a significant transformation in recent years, addressing past controversies and a perceived toxic culture. Bella Hadid, who previously stepped down as an Angel in 2020 due to allegations of sexual misconduct against former executive Ed Razek, spoke in 2021 about the brand's evolution. She noted that six out of seven board members are now women and that new photoshoot protocols have been implemented. "I feel empowered again. I feel empowered in lingerie, instead of feeling like my body is some sort of money maker," Hadid stated.
Hadid was part of the brand's new VS Collective, a group of ambassadors aiming to promote diversity, alongside figures like Hailey Bieber, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Naomi Osaka. She shared that her return involved extensive conversations and presentations from the brand detailing changes aimed at fostering a better environment for its talent, focusing on body diversity and overall representation.
Ashley Graham also acknowledged initial hesitation about rejoining the brand due to its past narrow vision of beauty. However, after meeting with Victoria's Secret leadership, she expressed seeing genuine change and a commitment to inclusivity. "VS genuinely want to be part of the body diversity revolution," Graham wrote on Instagram, noting the brand's dedication to embracing body diversity in a lasting and meaningful way.
