Vicky Pattison's Sister Laura Faces Hysterectomy After Uterine Cancer Diagnosis

Vicky Pattison has revealed her deep sorrow over her sister Laura's uterine cancer diagnosis and subsequent hysterectomy. Laura, who is 34, discovered she had cancer and shared on Instagram earlier this month that she was initially uncertain about her survival.

Laura Pattison had been secretly battling the disease, which had spread, and was awaiting test results to determine if she was cancer-free. While Laura continues with scans and biopsies, Vicky, who has supported cancer charity CoppaFeel! for over a decade, finds the situation particularly emotional.

Vicky described the difficult reality for her sister, stating, "To hear at 34 that you have to have a full hysterectomy... Your dreams of growing your family and not having another child aren't going to be possible, certainly not a natural capacity." She added that Laura is grieving the future she envisioned and coming to terms with a new reality.

Despite the personal heartbreak, Vicky praised Laura's resilience, strength, and bravery. She highlighted her sister's determination to survive and witness her six-year-old daughter Mavie's next birthday. This experience has made Vicky more introspective about her own life and the importance of nurturing personal relationships and pursuing desired goals.

Pattison also shared that her sister has been a strong supporter of her and her husband Ercan Ramadan's plans to start a family. The couple explored parenthood in the Channel 4 documentary "Vicky Pattison: Maybe, Baby?," which followed them as they considered various paths to having children. Vicky stated that they are now actively trying for a baby, emphasizing its priority for them. She noted that Laura, true to her supportive nature, is excited about becoming an aunt.

Earlier this month, Vicky participated in the 'CoppaTrek! with Gi' challenge across the Great Wall of China alongside Giovanna Fletcher. The event, which involved 120 supporters, aimed to raise vital funds and awareness for CoppaFeel!, a charity focused on early detection of breast cancer. Pattison has been involved with CoppaFeel! for over 10 years and finds these fundraising events particularly meaningful, connecting with inspiring individuals who are often navigating their own cancer journeys.
