Vicar of Dibley Cottage on Market for £375,000
The picturesque cottage that served as a filming location for the beloved British sitcom is now available for purchase.
The charming cottage adjacent to vicar Geraldine Granger's home in the popular 1990s sitcom "The Vicar of Dibley" has been listed for sale with bids starting at £375,000.
The Grade II-listed Church Cottage, located in the village of Turville, Buckinghamshire, is scheduled for auction on November 12. The property's exterior, along with that of its neighbor, was frequently used to depict Geraldine's house in the series. The real-life St Mary the Virgin Church in Turville was renamed St Barnabas Church for the show.
While the cottage boasts a notable television history, the sales listing indicates it may require some investment. "Offering cosy living, this charming 17th-century timber-frame cottage has had some updating carried out but would benefit from further renovation," the listing states. On the positive side, the property features a generous rear garden, its own parking, and is situated near local amenities and scenic walking routes.
"The Vicar of Dibley," created by Richard Curtis, originally aired on the BBC from 1994 to 2000 and has since returned for several specials, with the most recent broadcast in December 2020. The village of Turville itself has a history of appearing on screen, having been featured in the 1998 film "Goodnight Mister Tom" and the television series "Midsomer Murders."
