MLB legends Justin Verlander and David Ortiz recently put their baseball memories to the test in a game called "Fact Or Splat." The game, which also featured input from Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez, challenged the two athletes to recall details from their illustrious careers. The premise of the game is simple: correct answers earn the player the opportunity to throw fruit at a cutout of their opponent, while incorrect answers result in the opponent getting to throw fruit.

During the game, Ortiz correctly identified Ramon Martinez as the pitcher he hit his first career home run off of at Fenway Park. Verlander accurately recalled Travis Hafner as his first strikeout victim in MLB. However, when asked about his longest-tenured teammate, Ortiz incorrectly guessed Tim Wakefield, when the answer was Dustin Pedroia. This led to Verlander successfully landing a piece of fruit on Ortiz's cutout.

Verlander also answered correctly when asked which of Jeter, A-Rod, and Ortiz had the best batting average against him, identifying Derek Jeter. David Ortiz quickly answered that Manny Ramirez, Mike Lowell, and himself were the three World Series MVPs on his title teams. Verlander managed to name four of his teammates who had won the Cy Young award: Max Scherzer, Rick Porcello, Tarik Skubal, and Gerrit Cole. He missed naming Dallas Keuchel, Zack Greinke, David Price, and Robbie Ray.
