Rapper Vanilla Ice, whose real name is Rob Van Winkle, revealed on "Hang Out with Sean Hannity" that he does not vote in elections. He attributed this decision to a time management course he took in Hawaii.
Van Winkle explained that the course's instructor emphasized the value of time, asking attendees if they would relinquish the time spent voting if given the chance. The instructor reportedly told the class, "You just wasted nine years of your life," to which attendees responded by raising their hands.
During the course, participants were asked how they would prefer to spend the time dedicated to voting. One attendee suggested relaxing with a piña colada on the beach, while others indicated they would spend more time with family or engaging in hobbies like horse-jumping with their daughters.
Van Winkle, 58, stated that the lesson resonated with him, reinforcing the idea that time is precious and best spent on activities one enjoys. He views his approach to life as not taking things too seriously, which he cited as a reason for his detachment from political engagement. He previously defended his decision to perform at the Freedom 250 concert, describing his participation as an expression of his love for the country, although the event was ultimately canceled due to weather concerns.
Van Winkle's comments were made during an appearance on "Hang Out with Sean Hannity," with the full episode available on platforms including YouTube, Spotify, and Apple.
