Utah Football Player Under Investigation for Rape, Sharing Videos

Utah football player Jamal Wallace is under investigation for the alleged rape of a woman and for purportedly sharing videos of the incident on social media.

Wallace, a senior defensive tackle, was indefinitely suspended from the program on Oct. 11, a university spokesperson confirmed. "We take these matters seriously. As this is a pending legal matter we have no further comment at this time," the university said in a statement.

According to arrest documents, Wallace has denied the accusations. The woman, who stated she was in an on-and-off dating relationship with Wallace, told police that on Oct. 9, he grabbed her head and forced oral sex when they were discussing their relationship status.

She reported that Wallace forcibly had sex with her while stating she belonged to him, and that he hit her multiple times and took her phone to record and share videos of the encounter on Snapchat with five individuals. The woman stated she felt "confused and disgusting" after learning the videos were posted.

Salt Lake police have reportedly found the alleged videos and confirmed the phone was in Wallace's possession when the videos were recorded. Wallace claimed he accessed the woman's Snapchat account to see who she was communicating with.

Wallace was arrested by Salt Lake City police on Oct. 11 and is being investigated for rape and forcible sodomy. He faces five misdemeanor counts. He was released on $5,000 bail. The investigation is ongoing and Wallace has not yet been formally charged.

Wallace transferred to Utah from Tennessee. He played in one game for the Utes in the current season and appeared in six games for Tennessee in 2025.
