Gabrielle Cheyenne, a 24-year-old nurse from Chattanooga, has spoken out following her viral encounter with Usher during his R&B Tour stop in Nashville. The incident occurred Saturday night at Nissan Stadium when Usher, 47, waved Cheyenne off his stage after she appeared unresponsive to his dance moves.

Cheyenne took to social media to address online commentary suggesting she should not have gone on stage. "First off NOBODY is declining to go on stage. I looked good asf, you thought I wasn't gonna let THOUSANDS of people see me?? On the big screen where you b****es will never be?" she wrote on Facebook.

She explained that she and her mother had initially secured floor seats but were upgraded to VIP seating, which she attributed to "pretty privilege." Cheyenne also clarified that she was not informed in advance which artist she would be joining on stage. Social media users had speculated she might have been hoping for a performance from Chris Brown, who was also on tour.

During the performance, as Usher began singing and dancing close to Cheyenne to the song "Can U Handle It?," her facial expression remained static, and she appeared stiff. Usher eventually signaled for her to be removed from the stage, removing his in-ear monitors and gesturing her off.

Cheyenne's aunt, Tia Byrd, defended her niece on Facebook, stating that Cheyenne was respectful and that the age difference between her niece and Usher was significant. Byrd also mentioned that Cheyenne had a conversation with Usher's wife, Jennifer Goicoechea, backstage after the incident. "At the end of the day, she went home to her man and HE went home to HIS WIFE!" Byrd posted.

Cheyenne further addressed critics on Instagram Stories, stating that her reserved reaction was not a reflection of disrespect and that she is typically a private person. She indicated that she would share a more detailed account of the experience on TikTok and Snapchat. As the My Boo hitmaker began singing and dancing close to her, her facial expression was frozen as she appeared unmoved by the artist's advances
