USC Player Ejected After Brutal Hit, Celebrates as Opposing QB Hospitalized

USC junior linebacker Desman Stephens II was ejected from Saturday's game after delivering a severe forearm to the head of Oregon quarterback Dante Moore. The hit occurred as Moore was sliding near the Trojans' 15-yard line early in the second quarter.
Moore remained motionless on the field and was placed on a stretcher before being transported to a nearby hospital. Following the play, players from both teams engaged in a verbal confrontation and shoving match, which coaches worked to de-escalate. Stephens was flagged for targeting and removed from the game, and both teams received offsetting unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.
Adding to the disturbing sequence, Stephens was observed celebrating and exchanging high-fives with his USC teammates on the field and sideline while Moore was being attended to by medical personnel. This celebration occurred as USC fans in the sold-out Coliseum rose to applaud the injured Oregon quarterback.
Moore had completed 8 of 10 passes for 77 yards before the injury. His backup, Dylan Raiola, entered the game and threw an immediate touchdown pass, giving Oregon a 10-7 lead.
