US Warns Gulf Allies of Potential Iran Strikes After Midterms

The United States has reportedly notified several Gulf Arab countries to anticipate a short but intense renewal of attacks on Iran in the period after the November 3 midterm elections. This heads-up comes as U.S. forces in the region are reportedly preparing bombers and fighter jets and stocking up on munitions, aiming to pressure Tehran toward negotiations, according to sources cited by The Wall Street Journal.

The U.S. military is also reportedly shipping an additional Patriot missile defense system to Israel to enhance its capabilities, officials familiar with the shipment told the outlet.

President Trump has publicly stated his potential intention to renew attacks on Iran after the elections. "We may do another little Epic Fury," Trump said at a rally in Fort Myers, Florida. "Or they’ll agree. If they’re smart, they’ll just say, let’s get down to business. But, you know, I doubt they’ll do that because perhaps they’re not smart."

This development follows months of efforts by Trump and his administration to revive peace talks with Iran. A preliminary peace deal reportedly collapsed in July when Tehran resumed attacks on commercial ships near the Strait of Hormuz.
