The U.S. military stated it was carrying out the seventh consecutive night of strikes in Iran, a day after President Donald Trump declared a temporary ceasefire agreement to be "over." These strikes are intended to "continue degrading Iranian military capabilities at the Commander in Chief's direction," according to a statement from the U.S. military's Central Command (Centcom).

Centcom later dismissed as false a claim by Iran's Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) that two oil tankers had exploded in the Strait of Hormuz after passing through a mined section of the shipping channel. Iranian media had reported explosions in the central city of Yazd and on Qeshm island, as well as at the port of Bandar Abbas, adjacent to the strait.

Shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, which normally accounts for approximately one-fifth of the world's oil and liquefied natural gas supplies, has largely ceased due to ongoing exchanges between U.S. and Iranian forces. On Friday, Iran's armed forces asserted they had attacked multiple U.S. military facilities across the Gulf region, including in Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan, and Syria, though the U.S. denied these claims.

Earlier reports from Kuwaiti officials indicated that Iranian drone strikes had injured several soldiers and damaged a power plant and water desalination stations. Sources have also informed CBS News, the BBC's U.S. partner, that several American service members were injured in Iranian attacks on two Jordanian bases in the past week.

Washington has refuted Tehran's assertions that its forces targeted civilian infrastructure in Iran, such as bridges, a train station, and an airport. Provincial authorities in Iran's Hormozgan province reported that seven people were killed in the strikes. BBC Verify and BBC Persian have confirmed footage showing damage to the Gariveh Bridge, with night videos depicting a large fireball atop it. Daylight images revealed a section of road collapsed, with rubble surrounding the damaged bridge. A White House spokesperson told the BBC that U.S. strikes "carried out exclusively on military targets, including military logistics infrastructure."

Friday marked one week since the commencement of nightly U.S. attacks, following the collapse of peace talks with Iran. Tensions over the future of the Strait of Hormuz have complicated efforts to broker a lasting ceasefire.
