US Stocks Decline as Economy Shows Resilience

Most U.S. stocks finished lower on Wednesday as Wall Street reacted to ongoing economic strength.

The S&P 500 index dipped 0.3% after shedding earlier gains, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.9%. The Nasdaq composite, however, managed a gain of 0.2%.

These market movements occurred as reports indicated the U.S. economy performed even stronger than anticipated during the spring. This resilience in economic data contributed to sustained high yields in the bond market, which in turn exerted pressure on stock prices.
