The U.S. Navy has ended its search for a crew member who was lost when an MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter crashed in the Arabian Sea last week. The search was called off on Sunday.
The helicopter, assigned to the USS George HW Bush aircraft carrier, experienced an emergency landing early Wednesday. Four of the five crew members aboard were rescued.
"The efforts concluded following an extensive search by the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility," the U.S. 5th Fleet stated. "For more than 102 hours, an extensive and coordinated search and rescue effort spanning over 14,000 square miles was conducted."
The Navy has not yet released the identity of the service member lost at sea.
