US Embassy Warns of Imminent Mass Casualty Threat at Moscow Tourist Site
The U.S. Embassy in Moscow has issued a rare security alert citing a credible threat of a mass casualty event at a popular Moscow tourist destination.
The U.S. Embassy in Moscow has issued a security alert warning of a credible threat of a mass casualty event at the Tsaritsyno Museum Reserve, a popular tourist site in the Russian capital. The alert, dated for Saturday, October 31, urged Americans in Russia to remain vigilant, avoid crowds, and keep their cellphones charged.
The Tsaritsyno Museum Reserve, founded in 1775 as Empress Catherine II’s summer residence, is a well-known historical and tourist attraction. The embassy published the warning on its website and shared it via social media.
Russia’s Federal Security Service confirmed it had received information regarding a planned terrorist attack in Moscow from U.S. partners and stated that appropriate actions were being taken. This warning comes after the U.S. previously provided Moscow with intelligence concerning the March 2024 Crocus City Hall attack, which resulted in over 140 fatalities and numerous injuries.
