A nine-month-old baby boy was killed and his mother and five-year-old sister were injured when an unlicensed driver allegedly struck them in a parking lot in Jackson Township, New Jersey, on Friday. The incident occurred around 11:55 a.m. at the NPGS kosher grocery store.

The baby, identified as Yitzhak Rosenberg, was pronounced dead at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. His mother, Golda Chana, and his sister, Rachel, remain in stable condition at the same hospital.

Maria CobonGuzman, 20, has been charged with manslaughter, operating a motor vehicle without a valid license while involved in a fatal crash, and two counts of assault by auto. Prosecutors allege CobonGuzman was driving a Ford Fusion when she struck the mother and her children, who were in a stroller.

Ariadna Lazaro-Flores, 22, also faces charges for allegedly enabling CobonGuzman to drive. Authorities claim Lazaro-Flores knew CobonGuzman had never possessed a valid driver's license in New Jersey or any other state but allowed her to operate the vehicle. Lazaro-Flores is charged with knowingly engaging in conduct that creates a substantial risk of death to another.

Both CobonGuzman and Lazaro-Flores were taken into custody at the scene and are being held at Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing. The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office is continuing its investigation into the crash.
