The University of Melbourne has revoked Anthony Brooks' scholarship and banned him from its campus following serious allegations that have emerged in court. Brooks, who is accused of using deceptive personas and sending threatening messages, faces numerous charges, including sexual assault.
Court documents reveal allegations that Brooks, 33, raped a "vulnerable and isolated" man multiple times in April 2024, using both his penis and a sex toy. The court also heard that Brooks allegedly sent disturbing text messages to the complainant, portraying himself as someone he was not. These alleged communications were presented in Melbourne Magistrates' Court.
Further allegations include Brooks transmitting child abuse material, for which he was charged on April 29. Brooks was previously made a registered sex offender when he arrived in Victoria from New South Wales. He has reportedly lost his university scholarship.
Brooks has been accused of using fake online personas, leading to the claim that he can "become anyone." The full extent of these alleged deceptions and the impact on his victims are currently being examined in court proceedings.
