Preliminary results from Russia's parliamentary elections suggest that United Russia, the party aligned with President Vladimir Putin, is on track to maintain its constitutional majority.

The outcome, described by the BBC's Russia editor Steve Rosenberg as "no surprises," follows a period of significant battlefield losses for the Russian army in its ongoing conflict with Ukraine, a war that has also led to economic hardship within the nation.

In the lead-up to the election, the only anti-war party, Yabloko, was removed from the ballot. However, some of its candidates were permitted to run in specific constituencies.
