The Cleveland Guardians secured a victory in Game 3 of the series, marking their first win after losing both home games. The team scored nine runs in Game 3, with all runs originating from hits that stayed within the ballpark. This win prevents the series from advancing further without Cleveland securing at least one victory before a potential ALCS matchup with the Rays.
The Chicago White Sox experienced their first postseason loss in Game 3. The team, which entered the postseason with low expectations, now faces a closeout game. Chicago plans to utilize a bullpen game strategy, with Hagen Smith expected to open the game. Smith has faced the Guardians three times in the series already.
