Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods is recalling approximately 23,000 pounds of baked spaghetti and chicken cobbler products due to potential metal sliver contamination, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced.
The recall was initiated after a customer discovered a piece of metal in one of the affected products. The establishment received a consumer complaint regarding the foreign material found in a fully cooked item.
No injuries have been reported in connection with the recalled food items. FSIS advises consumers concerned about a potential injury to contact a healthcare provider.
The recalled products were manufactured between July 1 and July 29, 2026. Affected items include Ukrop’s 62.4-ounce bulk pans and 4.8-ounce single-serving trays of baked spaghetti, as well as 48-ounce family-size pans and 11.6-ounce single-serving trays of chicken cobbler. Products bear “best by” dates ranging from July 8 through August 5.
The products were distributed in Virginia, North Carolina, and West Virginia. They were also available through Department of War commissaries and via online sales.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled products are urged to discard them or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. This includes items that may have been stored in freezers.
This recall follows a separate incident in June where Rich Products Corp. recalled more than 160,000 pounds of Farm Rich Pizza Cheese Crunchers across 21 states, also due to concerns about potential metal pieces. That recall was announced by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
