Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced her resignation Sunday, her latest role in a wartime government reshuffle initiated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Zelenskyy stated he has offered Svyrydenko a "new, important" position as he continues to reshape his administration during the ongoing conflict with Russia.

Svyrydenko, who previously served as Ukraine's economy minister, expressed pride in her tenure, stating she led the government through "one of the most difficult periods in Ukraine's modern history." She confirmed discussions with Zelenskyy regarding "next steps" but did not specify her new role. "I remain ready to serve the Ukrainian state and carry out every task aimed at strengthening Ukraine's position, defending our national interests and bringing a just peace closer," Svyrydenko wrote in a social media statement.

Zelenskyy framed the move as part of a broader shift in Ukraine's political strategy. He indicated that each significant area of foreign policy would be managed by an experienced official tasked with implementing agreements and advancing national interests. The president also announced planned changes to the country's top law enforcement leadership, with further details to be released later.

This reshuffle marks the fourth major reorganization of Zelenskyy's government since Russia's full-scale invasion, reflecting the president's efforts to invigorate his wartime administration. Svyrydenko was appointed prime minister in July 2025, having previously played a key role in negotiating a minerals agreement with the United States, a deal seen as reinforcing U.S. economic interests and its commitment to Ukraine's security.

Following Svyrydenko's announcement, Zelenskyy met with several senior officials, including the ministers of energy, interior, and defense, signaling that additional government changes may be forthcoming. The Associated Press contributed to this report.
