UK Weather Forecast: Warmer Temperatures Expected, But No Heatwave
The UK is set to experience warmer weather this week with temperatures potentially reaching 25C, though conditions will not be classified as a heatwave.
High pressure is building across the United Kingdom, leading to more settled weather conditions with brighter skies.
Following a cool start on Monday morning, sunshine and light winds are forecast for much of England and Wales, with temperatures climbing into the low 20s Celsius. Scotland and Northern Ireland will also see warmer temperatures, reaching highs of 18 to 22C, despite the presence of more cloud.
The air is expected to become more humid, contributing to misty and foggy conditions in the mornings, particularly across England and Wales into Tuesday. Once any fog or cloud clears, warmer temperatures are anticipated.
In southeastern England, temperatures could reach as high as 24 or 25C. Many other areas of England, Wales, Northern Ireland, and Eastern Scotland are expected to see temperatures in the low 20s Celsius. The exact peak temperature will depend on the extent to which cloud cover breaks, allowing for stronger September sunshine.
Despite the rise in temperatures, the forecast indicates that conditions will not be warm enough to be classified as an official heatwave. The year 2026 has already set a record for the number of days exceeding 25C, surpassing the previous record of 89 days set in 1959.
