A Cambridge University professor has resigned following accusations of plagiarism, with the development featuring prominently in several UK newspapers. The resignation comes amid an investigation by the university.

Separately, reports from the Daily Telegraph suggest that donations to a think tank that supports Defence Secretary Wes Streeting have been linked to Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder of the cryptocurrency exchange FTX. The jailed financier reportedly contributed £37,500 to the Labour for the Long Term (LLT) group. However, a spokesperson for Streeting stated that the list of donors reviewed by his team did not include Bankman-Fried, and that he had no contact with the individual.

A Labour Party spokesman added that the party conducted due diligence checks before the donations were accepted, and no issues were identified during that process.

The Daily Mail reported the resignation under the headline: "'Plagiarism professor' resigns as Cambridge investigate". The Times ran a similar headline: "Plagiarism row professor resigns from Cambridge". Other newspaper headlines included "Plagiarism row professor resigns" and "Cambridge professor quits after false claims" from the BBC and a separate report, respectively. The Guardian also covered the story with the headline "Academic resigns amid plagiarism accusations".
