Stephanie Adair, 29, admitted to engaging in an inappropriate personal relationship with Jahki Crosdale, 28, at HMP Wandsworth between September 1, 2023, and November 2, 2024. The court heard that Adair "wilfully misconducted herself" and maintained contact with Crosdale via an illicit mobile phone.

Crosdale pleaded guilty to unauthorized transmission of images or sound from within HMP Wandsworth and HMP Lowdham Grange between February 23 and October 23, 2024.

Both Adair and Crosdale were granted unconditional bail. Sentencing is scheduled for February 9, 2027. Judge Georgina Kent warned both defendants to cooperate with pre-sentencing reports and to commit no further offenses before their next court date.

HMP Wandsworth has faced significant criticism, with the Howard League for Penal Reform labeling it "England's worst jail" in August 2024 due to issues including overcrowding, violence, and self-harm. The prison was also the site of a previous scandal involving a prison officer filmed having sex with an inmate.

Crosdale, who is serving a sentence on recall until 2029, was convicted of manslaughter at age 17 for stabbing 19-year-old Charlie Burns over a £150 cannabis debt. He has since faced further convictions for drug supply and firearms offenses.

Adair's father, a teacher, expressed the family's distress over the allegations but stated they are unable to discuss the ongoing case.
