Prime Minister Andy Burnham has indicated that the Labour party may contest the upcoming general election with a platform focused on reversing Brexit and seeking re-entry into the European Union. While ruling out such a significant policy shift within the current parliamentary term, which is scheduled to conclude by July 2029 at the latest, Burnham did not dismiss the possibility should Labour retain power after the election.

Speaking on ITV's Good Morning Britain, Burnham expressed a desire for Britain to rejoin the EU but emphasized that any such move would be contingent on public sentiment. "I am not proposing rejoining in this Parliament. I said we wouldn't re-run the referendum. That's not what I'm doing. The British public will be the bosses here," he stated.

The Prime Minister's remarks have prompted a poll by The Morning Poll, asking the public how they would react to the UK potentially holding another referendum on its EU membership. The results of this poll are expected to be published in the Morning Mail newsletter.
