UK Prime Minister Hints at Future Rejoining EU Talks
Prime Minister Andy Burnham suggests Labour may pursue rejoining the European Union after the next general election, but rules out such a move in the current parliamentary term.

Prime Minister Andy Burnham has indicated that the Labour party could campaign on a platform of rejoining the European Union in the future, though he has explicitly stated that this will not occur within the current parliamentary term, which is set to conclude by July 2029.
In an interview with ITV's Good Morning Britain, Burnham expressed a desire for Britain to rejoin the EU but emphasized that any such significant change would depend on public sentiment. "I am not proposing rejoining in this Parliament. I said we wouldn't re-run the referendum. That's not what I'm doing. The British public will be the bosses here," he stated.
The Prime Minister's remarks suggest a potential shift in Labour's stance on Brexit, leaving the door open for renewed discussions about EU membership following the next general election if the party remains in power. However, he reiterated his commitment not to revisit the Brexit referendum within the current legislative period.
