Detectives investigating Prince Andrew are preparing to travel to the United States to interview members of Virginia Giuffre's family, her brother has revealed. Thames Valley Police are seeking to speak with relatives of Ms. Giuffre, who died in April of last year, regarding her allegations of sexual assault against the former Duke of York.

Investigators plan to visit Ms. Giuffre's brother, Sky Roberts, and his wife, Amanda Roberts, in the coming weeks. The family is also pressing for a meeting with Andy Burnham and advocating for parliamentary hearings in the UK concerning Jeffrey Epstein, aiming to shed new light on the allegations against the disgraced financier and his associates.

Mr. Roberts has called for a public inquiry into Epstein's activities in Britain, drawing a parallel to the U.S. House Oversight Committee's inquiries into Epstein's prominent connections, including figures like Microsoft founder Bill Gates.

Last month, detectives announced that their investigation into Prince Andrew for misconduct in public office is broad and complex, potentially encompassing sexual misconduct and corruption. Prince Andrew was released under investigation following his arrest in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office, related to allegations of passing sensitive information to Epstein, with whom he maintained a friendship for over a decade.

Both Prince Andrew and former UK ambassador to the US Peter Mandelson, who was also released under investigation for alleged misconduct, deny the allegations against them.

Four months after Prince Andrew's arrest on claims he leaked secrets to Epstein while serving as the UK's trade envoy, officers are interviewing witnesses about suspected criminal offenses. Mr. Roberts indicated that the UK is at a critical juncture and expressed his view that a structure similar to the U.S. House Oversight Committee could be established there. He stated that the family is actively working behind the scenes to guide parliamentary developments and anticipates significant activity related to the matter in the UK.

His wife, Amanda Roberts, added that they are actively pushing for a formal inquiry in the UK.

Mr. Roberts also stated his intention to visit Britain soon to meet with Mr. Burnham and advocate for a public inquiry into Epstein's connections within the UK. He expressed a strong desire to meet with the Makerfield MP, who is expected to become the next Prime Minister.

In 2022, Prince Andrew reportedly paid a settlement of £12 million to Ms. Giuffre, who alleged he sexually assaulted her on three occasions when she was 17. Prince Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing and stated he does not recall meeting Ms. Giuffre.

Ms. Giuffre died by suicide in April 2025 at her home near Perth, Western Australia, at the age of 41. Following Prince Andrew's arrest on his 66th birthday, Ms. Giuffre's family issued a statement thanking Thames Valley Police and expressing that the news brought them solace, signifying that no one is above the law.

Last month, Thames Valley Police made a public appeal for potential victim-survivors to come forward. Officers are assessing allegations that another woman was sent to the UK by Epstein in 2010 for a sexual encounter with Prince Andrew at Royal Lodge. Detectives are also expected to interview Prince Andrew's former protection officers.

Police have seized potential evidence from Prince Andrew's former residence at Royal Lodge in Windsor and his current property in Norfolk, which officers are currently examining. Detectives have identified multiple lines of inquiry in what is being described as a significant investigation. Senior officers are consulting with the Crown Prosecution Service for preliminary investigative advice in anticipation of potential prosecution.

Authorities are also liaising with the U.S. Department of Justice to formally request evidence, following the release of millions of documents related to the Epstein case. Assistant Chief Constable Oliver Wright stated that the police hope any individuals with relevant information will come forward, emphasizing that the investigation is proceeding rapidly with experienced specialist investigators.

He further noted that the misconduct in public office investigation is ongoing and all reasonable lines of inquiry are being pursued. The aim in speaking with potential witnesses is to explain the scope of the investigation, discuss any information they may have, and address any concerns. The police are committed to conducting a thorough and careful investigation in accordance with the Criminal Procedures and Investigations Act.

However, criminal defense lawyer Marcus Johnstone commented that while the investigation is active, a potential prosecution remains distant. He noted that speaking with Ms. Giuffre's family is distinct from speaking with her directly and that it remains to be seen whether Prince Andrew will face penalties for sexual offenses or merely continued reputational damage.

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police confirmed that the misconduct in public office investigation is ongoing and declined to provide specific details, stating only that all reasonable lines of inquiry are being followed.
