A former Derbyshire Constabulary sergeant, known by the nickname 'Hot Fuzz,' faces eight counts of misconduct in public office for allegedly misusing his position to pursue sexual or emotional relationships with six members of the public and two police officers. Tarjinderjit Nizzer, 57, also faces charges of attempting to pervert the course of justice for canceling a traffic offense report and computer misuse for allegedly conducting unauthorized checks on individuals.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) directed the investigation, which was conducted by Derbyshire Constabulary's Counter Corruption Unit. The alleged misconduct occurred between January 2020 and November 2024. Nizzer resigned from the force in February 2026.

Nizzer earned the nickname 'Hot Fuzz' after transferring from serious crime investigations in a large city to a neighborhood role in Swadlincote, Derbyshire. The force had previously highlighted his move on Facebook in 2024, referencing the film of the same name, which features a big-city police officer adjusting to a quieter town.

Nizzer is scheduled to appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on October 2.

The sergeant was nicknamed after the film Hot Fuzz and was promoted on the Facebook page of Derbyshire Constabulary's safer neighbourhood team
