Allwyn, the operator of the UK's Lotto, has announced that two individuals have successfully claimed their £1 million prizes after matching five main numbers and the Bonus Ball. However, a third ticket holder still needs to come forward to claim their winnings, with a deadline of September 9.
One winning ticket was purchased in Wakefield for the draw on August 5, and another in Aberdeenshire for the draw on August 8. The third unclaimed million-pound ticket was bought in Hartlepool for a draw on March 13. Lottery officials are urging the ticket holder to claim their prize before the deadline expires.
"It must be an extraordinary feeling to go from not knowing you’ve won to discovering you’re a millionaire and starting what promises to be a life-changing journey," said Lynn Devlin, winner’s experience lead at Allwyn. "They join a growing number of Lotto winners, including the player who recently claimed the £4.3 million jackpot won on August 19."
August has been a notable month for lottery winners, with 20 individuals becoming millionaires through Lotto draws. Over the course of the year, Allwyn has seen 120 Lotto winners.
After validation, the winnings will be paid out following appointments with Allwyn Winners' Advisers. Winners have the option to decide whether they wish to publicly disclose their good fortune.
