A UK-Iranian dual national arrested in connection with a major incident at RAF Fairford has been released on police bail. The 25-year-old was taken into custody on Thursday in the London borough of Westminster.
Searches of two properties in Westminster have concluded. The arrest followed an alert last weekend regarding three suspicious vehicles near the airbase in Gloucestershire. This alert led to a major incident being declared, with dozens of homes evacuated.
Five other men, all UK nationals from London and in their twenties, were previously arrested in connection with the same events. They have also been released on police bail. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing, according to police.
