UK High Court Rules Search Warrants Unlawful in Case Involving Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor

The High Court has determined that search warrants used by Thames Valley Police to search the properties of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor earlier this year were unlawful. The force has stated that it accepts the initial court's decision to issue warrants under the specific legislation employed was incorrect.

Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested by Thames Valley Police on suspicion of misconduct in public office. He denies any wrongdoing.

The ruling follows a legal challenge concerning the validity of the warrants used in the search of his homes on February 19. Special correspondent Lucy Manning reported from outside the High Court, explaining the court's decision and its implications.
