The UK government has instructed social media companies to remove videos that appear to glorify dangerous activities such as joyriding in stolen cars and inhaling nitrous oxide while driving. Defence minister Luke Pollard stated that the government has ordered platforms like TikTok and Snapchat to take down such content.

The push comes amid a perceived increase in the prevalence of these videos, which often feature young people engaging in risky behavior behind the wheel. The government is seeking assurances from social media companies that they are taking sufficient action to address the issue and prevent the further spread of this potentially harmful content.
