UK Dance Coach Denies Sexually Assaulting Teenager
A former Strictly Come Dancing coach accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy has denied the charges in court.
Warren Bullock, 61, a dance coach who reportedly trained young professionals for the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, appeared at Cannock Magistrates' Court on Friday to face two child sex offense charges. He pleaded not guilty to both charges and confirmed his identity, speaking only to deny the allegations.
Bullock was charged by Staffordshire Police on September 15 following an investigation into a report of sexual communication with a child. The court heard that one charge alleges he caused or incited a 14-year-old boy to engage in non-penetrative sexual activity involving a sex toy between 2021 and 2023. The second charge states that Bullock intentionally touched the same 14-year-old boy, with the Crown alleging that this involved pinching the alleged victim's bottom.
Bullock founded the Zig Zag Dance Factory in Wolverhampton in 1994 with his wife, who was also a former Strictly Come Dancing coach. He also appeared in the 2017 Netflix series "Baby Ballroom," which documented the competitive world of children's ballroom dancing.
District Judge Joseph O’Connor granted Bullock conditional bail. The conditions include a prohibition on contacting the alleged victim and a ban on working with individuals under the age of 18. Bullock's next hearing is scheduled for November 16 at Stafford Crown Court.
During their own competitive dance careers, Bullock and his wife were coached by Len Goodman, a legendary figure in the show, who passed away in April 2023.
