UK Boy, 6, Dies After Being Hit by Van While Playing on Bike
Harrison Jones fell into the road outside his home in Llanfairfechan, an inquest heard.
A six-year-old boy died after falling into the road and being struck by a van while playing on his bicycle, an inquest has been told. Harrison Jones had been playing with a friend on October 1st when he fell into the road outside his home in Llanfairfechan at approximately 5:30 PM BST.
Denbighshire Coroner's Court heard that Harrison was hit by a passing Ford Transit tipper van. A post-mortem examination concluded that Harrison died from severe head injuries.
John Gittins, senior coroner for north Wales east and central, stated that the death requires further investigation and has adjourned the inquest.
In a tribute shared on a fundraising page established to support his family, Harrison was remembered as a "cheeky chappy, full of character with a personality that could light up a room," and who had been "loved more deeply than words could ever express."
The GoFundMe fundraiser was initiated by Kate Jones to assist with Harrison's funeral and memorial costs. It will also cover household bills and essential expenses while his parents take time away from work to grieve. "There are no words that can truly describe the heartbreak and devastation his parents, sisters and our whole family are experiencing," Jones wrote on the fundraiser page.
