Uganda has announced its withdrawal from Prince Harry's Invictus Games, citing a desire to align with the wishes of King Charles III. The decision was declared by Uganda's chief of defence, who stated that the nation would not participate in anything lacking the British monarch's approval.

This move follows a letter reportedly sent on behalf of King Charles, clarifying that Prince Harry and Meghan are no longer engaged in official royal duties. A report in The Times newspaper suggested that the general's concerns about "Harry-Meghan nonsense" were a factor in the decision, though royal sources have indicated that the King supports all initiatives aimed at aiding wounded service personnel.

The Invictus Games organization stated it had not received official notification of Uganda's potential withdrawal and is seeking clarification from its contacts in the country. Uganda had been confirmed as the 26th nation to participate in the next games, scheduled to be held in Birmingham next year. The announcement of Uganda's inclusion was made in July, during Prince Harry's promotional tour for the event, which celebrates the resilience and rehabilitation of wounded military members.
