Members of the Tzaneros family, whose shipping dynasty ACFS Port Logistics recently entered voluntary administration owing over $270 million, have been observed attending a society event. The appearance comes as the family's financial and public relations crisis deepens.
Anthony Tzaneros, IT Director for ACFS Port Logistics, and his wife Poppy, who is from the O'Neil family, were seen at the 'Y2K' themed birthday celebration for Bernadette Sukkar. They were accompanied by Barbara Coombes, née Tzaneros, sister of Anthony and wife of real estate tycoon Michael Coombes. The event took place at Archie Brothers Alexandria.
Poppy Tzaneros, 40, was noted for carrying a Mini Kelly Hermes handbag valued at $29,100 and wearing a Pucci shirt, Gucci sneakers, and a Rolex watch. Anthony Tzaneros, 38, was seen in a navy shirt, jeans, and Gucci sneakers. Barbara Coombes wore an oversized red shirt, denim shorts, and heels.
ACFS Port Logistics, founded by Tzaneros patriarch Terry and his son Arthur, entered voluntary administration and receivership on August 6. The company reportedly owes approximately $60 million to the Australian Taxation Office, with its assets potentially facing liquidation. The financial collapse has been compounded by controversy surrounding Arthur Tzaneros, who resigned as CEO following the leak of private messages related to an alleged sexual assault at Scots College.
Sources indicate the Tzaneros family has engaged crisis communications advisors to manage its public image, particularly concerning displays of wealth. While several female family members have retreated from public view and secured their social media accounts, Poppy Tzaneros has maintained public social media profiles, though her last post was in June. Her sister-in-law, Maude Tzaneros, the wife of Arthur, has reportedly been isolating at the family's Bellevue Hill mansion, a property valued at $61.5 million.
The birthday event's guest list also included Bernadette Sukkar's husband, Jordan Sukkar, COO of Buildcorp; PR maven Montarna McDonald; stylist Caroline Tran; fashion designer Michael Lo Sordo; Hayco heiress Louise O'Neil; socialite Kristina Macourt; and Deborah Symond O'Neil, daughter of Aussie Home Loans founder John Symond. Bernadette Sukkar herself wore a baby blue sweatsuit and displayed Louis Vuitton handbags.
