Tyreek Hill Admits to Shoving Wife, Denies Other Abuse Claims in Divorce Trial Testimony

NFL wide receiver Tyreek Hill testified in his Miami divorce and battery civil case on Thursday, admitting to pushing his wife, Lakeeta Vaccaro Hill, into a wall during a domestic dispute but denying several other abuse allegations she has made.

During approximately two hours of testimony, Hill, 32, stated that his 18-month marriage was marked by arguments concerning finances, Vaccaro Hill's alleged theft of money from a family account, and disagreements over his family living at their home. He denied claims that he punched her stomach while she was pregnant, twisted her breasts, pulled her hair, shoved a lit blunt into her face, or left her on the side of the road.

However, Hill did admit to throwing Vaccaro Hill against a wall in their condo, creating a hole in the structure. He also acknowledged threatening her by stating he knew people who could harm her. Hill apologized for a recorded rant directed at Vaccaro Hill and her mother.

Hill also accused Vaccaro Hill of indirectly causing a fire that burned down their home and contributing to a decline in his on-field performance due to their frequent arguments. "I felt like if you look at my career before and my career after I got married it was, like, trending down," he testified. "And it was, like, bad. I was like, man, am I really putting this product on the field? Do I really look that bad? It was hard."

Vaccaro Hill had previously testified that Hill was physically abusive on at least eight occasions. Hill refuted most of these claims, explaining one incident where he pushed her against a wall. He stated that he pushed her while trying to get her off him as she touched him while he was packing to leave. "I told her don't you ever touch me again in your life," Hill testified. "I pushed her against the wall. And I tried to force her to get off me. I created a hole in the wall, trying to force me to get off me that night."

He further testified that despite the physical altercation, he and Vaccaro Hill became physically intimate that night, but he later felt remorse and decided he wanted a divorce, stating, "I didn't want to be that in front of my daughter. I felt embarrassed, you know what I'm saying?"

Regarding a May 2024 car ride, Vaccaro Hill claimed Hill shoved her into a car door and threw her shoe out of the vehicle while drinking. Hill admitted to drinking socially and acknowledged warning his wife about potential harm. "I did, I did make statements about she wasn't safe," Hill said. "I did make statements about me being able to get people to hurt her. Like now, looking back, I wish I could have handled that situation better."

Hill also discussed financial disputes, stating that Vaccaro Hill began taking increasing sums of money from him before and during their marriage, alleging she stole between $60,000 to $100,000 per month at one point. He stated that she married him for his money.

Hill's testimony is scheduled to continue, with Vaccaro Hill's attorney expected to conduct redirect examination on Friday.
