Tyler Zacharia, the husband of recently appointed White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia, is a film producer with a notable career in the entertainment industry. His production credits include major films such as Martin Scorsese's "The Irishman" and "Silence," as well as recent studio productions like "Roofman" and "The Breadwinner."

Katie Zacharia, a 41-year-old mother of four, made headlines during her first press briefing on Tuesday when she inadvertently referred to her husband as "my president." She later acknowledged the slip-up, calling it "a good one."

Tyler Zacharia's professional background extends beyond film production. He holds an undergraduate degree in international politics and military security from Georgetown University and an MBA from Pepperdine University. He previously worked in private equity in Beijing, China, from August 2007 to July 2013 as a VP at SGI Frontier Capital. His fluency in Mandarin was instrumental in his work in China.

He has stated that his experience in deals, particularly in China, taught him the importance of people skills over spreadsheets. Currently, Tyler Zacharia serves as the COO of 2521 Entertainment, which has been involved in producing films such as an upcoming feature about the Hershey chocolate company. He also oversees business operations for Boies Schiller Entertainment and CenterStage Technologies.

Tyler and Katie Zacharia have been married since 2011. In a 2016 interview with Pepperdine Magazine, Tyler confirmed their marriage and mentioned that they had spent eight months backpacking around the globe together in the mid-2010s. Katie Zacharia has previously taken time away from her career to raise their four children, emphasizing their priority in her life.

Prior to her role as press secretary, Katie Zacharia worked in various capacities, including as general counsel for the conservative political group Fix California and as outside counsel for the World Bank Group and the International Finance Corporation. She also served as deputy assistant secretary for public affairs at the Department of Homeland Security. She replaced Tricia McLaughlin as the public face of the Trump administration's immigration initiatives before her tenure there concluded.

President Donald Trump announced Katie Zacharia's appointment as press secretary on Truth Social on Friday, stating she had been "outstanding" in her role at the social media platform. He described her as a "devoted fan and member of MAGA" and expressed confidence in her ability to deliver strong results. She officially succeeded Karoline Leavitt, who departed the role on August 27 to focus on her family.

Katie Zacharia expressed her honor in serving President Trump and the American people, stating that Trump "has shown America that we can be great again." She is also a senior communications advisor for Trump's Truth Social platform. Her appointment comes at a significant time, ahead of the upcoming midterm elections.
